SAFETY PLANNING

Safety Planning involves developing a customized and practical plan for victims/survivours of domestic abuse to stay safe and protect themselves and their children. The measures include plans to minimize exposure to physical and cyber violence or other harm caused by a perpetrator. Creating a safety plan is personalized. It involves working to tailor the plan to fit an individual's unique situation. Some unique factors to consider when personalizing a safety plan include culture, religion and linguistic background. A safety plan might focus on some or all of these aspects of a victimized employee’s life:

  • Home
  • Work
  • Travelling
  • Children – daycare/school
  • Court orders
  • Communication
